Yes, for acne we recommend Spring Tide Serum, Restoring Eye Serum, and Seaweed Cleanser. Some acneic complexions respond well to the Anti-Aging Enzyme Mask and Renewing Serum.
Our products are formulated using sustainable ingredients including responsibly sourced oils and non-toxic ingredients (no parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, GMO’s, triclosan or silicones).
We don’t test our products on animals nor are any of our ingredients tested on animals. Our ingredients have all been submitted to a third party lab in Oxford, UK which reviews all of our ingredients for cruelty free and allergen free. This is a mandatory legal requirement for any cosmetic products imported into Great Britain.
All Sapelo products, with the exception of our Softening Emollient, are safe fro pregnant and nursing mothers. Sapelo ingredients have been reviewed and approved safe by a board certified OB/GYN. The Milk & Honey Hydrating Mask was specifically designed to create a peaceful, hydrating environment for pregnant women experiencing skin disruptions.
To ensure exceptional quality and attention to detail, every batch of Sapelo is manufactured and poured at our Savannah-based Lab. The lab is fully certified, including Good Manufacturing Practice certification and owned and operated by a team of veteran cosmetic scientists.
Yes, each ingredient is selected for safety standards including allergen free certification. For example, the Wheat Extract used in our products contains less than 20 ppm of gluten, meeting the FDA’s definition of gluten-free. Ask LEIGH - name the products with wheat.

Most eye products are creams, therefore, oil based. If skin is not well-hydrated, an oil based product will sit on the skin acting only as a protective barrier. Our Restoring Eye Serum was thoughtfully designed as a water-based product to offer a surge of hydration and nutrition for immediate absorption. Sapelo is wholly owned by Cindy Edwards and Stephanie Duttenhaver. Their formulations were developed inhouse to mimic the immune system response to healing. They do not use private label formulators. Every formula is proprietary.
